I have lots of mixed media supplies in my stash, and most of it has gone virtually unused, much to my dismay. Not for the lack of inspiration because mixed media projects are hot and just about everywhere you look. What I lacked was confidence. Oh, I’ve tried, but most of what I created went right into the circular file. But not today.
Using cardstock of white, light pink and brown, I layered my card together. I sprinkled Chalkboard Spray over the white cardstock for a little added interest.
The heart was stamped using Versa Mark and embossed with clear embossing powder and then I painted some acrylic ink over the heart and wiped off the excess from the embossed heart, as the embossing acts as a resist to the paint.
For my embellishments, I colored a few veneer stars with the same Chalkboard Spray and the veneer feather (from the Studio Calico Sock Hop Kit) with a brown Copic marker. Using a scrap of ribbon, I wrapped it around the white and brown cardstock. My little glazed flair piece was created by stamping one of the images from the Fun Flair set and then I applied a thick layer of Glossy Accents on the image and let it dry several hours before attaching it to my card using foam adhesive.
So while this project has various medias on it, it’s done in a very discreet manner, and perhaps by starting off a little shy my confidence will build and I’ll become a little more bold.
I’m happy you weren’t shy about visiting today, and hope that you will give the mixed media “think” a try, and perhaps even more bold than I could muster.
Until next time, live happy!
Live each day with PURPOSE!
