Hello crafty friends. On the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog, Claire shared a project where she created some DIY Washi Tape. I adore Washi tape. In fact, I fancy myself as somewhat of a collector. I have dozens of rolls, and anytime I find a new pattern that I love, I snatch it up in a hurry. But there are times when I need a design or color that I DON’T have, and that’s when creating the DIY type of Washi tape can be fun, inexpensive, and totally personalized for my project. Making your own Washi tape is so easy that anyone can do it, so if you haven’t yet ventured into the weird, wonderful world of Washi, Claire has a challenge just for you!
I began my project with choosing my patterned paper first and then I created my Washi tape using images from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and colors that coordinated with my patterned paper. Claire has great directions for creating your own DIY Washi, so be sure to check out her blog for the details, if you don’t know how.
I had die cut a few of these polaroid frames using my Cameo, and I love having them just sitting around waiting for me to use them. The little “angel” from the Earth Angel set and then paper pieces another piece of patterned paper for her dress. I adorned the bow in her hair with a teeny crystal, which all but hides the even-teenier bow.
The balloon was created with a circle stamped onto a scrap of patterned paper, and attached above the from using foam adhesive. I added the black “ties” from the Bitty Banners set and glued a piece of bakers twine.
The sentiment is from the Half Pint Heroines set which was stamped on the base as well as partially on the polaroid frame.
DIY Washi is so easy to do, if you haven’t given it a try yet, you should. And while you are at it, why not get in on the fun and link to project to Claire’s challenge?
Thanks for looking in today...I hope the rest of your day is as “uplifting” as your visit has made me feel.
Until next time,
Live each day with PURPOSE!
