I’m a little late in getting this birthday card in the mail for a longtime friend. I have known Paula since we were 13 years old, and have stayed in touch over the years. We went everywhere together – to church, to school, have been bridesmaids in one another’s weddings, worked at the same places, and while thousands of miles separate us, some bonds are unbreakable.
Her birthday is Wednesday, and since the post office is closed tomorrow in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. day, it won’t go into the mail until Tuesday, but somehow I don’t think she will mind that it’s late. At lease I’ll be thinking of her on her special day.
I got busy yesterday and put this card together using a variety of stamps.
I started with a white card base and layered patterned paper from Teresa Collins’ Caroline Breeze collection. Using Soft Granite ink, I stamped the floral image from the Butterflies and Wildflowers set by Hero Arts.
The sentiment is from the Waltzingmouse Stamps set, Compact Sentiments, that I stamped onto a scrap of the same Carolina Breeze patterned paper and die cut using my Labels 21. I layered that on a scalloped oval punched from cardstock, and I used a tiny hole punch to punch circles in each of the scallops. Behind the sentiment, I stamped the rays from the Bright Season set.
As embellishment, I added a bit of silk ribbon topped with a netted butterfly.
I hope that this card conveys the warm wishes that I send along with this card to my long-time friend. Do you have a long-time friend that would like to hear from you? Don’t wait another minute to reach out. I’m sure they will appreciate it and it will do wonders for you too.
I’m truly grateful that you stopped by today. I hope the remainder of your day is a fabulous one!
Live each day with PURPOSE!
