WMS February Release Day–Hurray!

Hello and welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Release Day, and Design Team Blog Waltz.  Waltzingmouse Stamps is releasing 9 new sets today: French Country, Chicken Wire, Make Your Mark, Nordic Spring, Florentine Frippery, Company Sentiments, Heirloom Patterns, and two sets which I have used in my projects today; Paris Nouveau and Labels 25.

I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a bit of fun and inspiration.  The Blog Waltz begins on Claire’s blog.  She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way.  I am linking to one of the Waltzingmouse Stamps designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way.

We will randomly choose one commentor after the waltz is over to win a free WMS set of choice, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way. If you have arrived here from Kelly Schirmer's blog, then you are right on track.

The Blog Waltz starts now and runs through March 3rd, 5:59 AM Central time and the winner will be announced on Sunday, March 4th on Claire’s blog.  You do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify, but the more times you leave a comment along the blog waltz path, the better your chances to be the lucky winner.

My first project is a "thank you" card made using Paris Nouveau.  Using some great papers from the Uncommon collection from Authentique, I layered panels onto my card base.  I used the border image from the set to create an embossed border on which I layered labels and the wonderful Eiffel Tower.  I tied it all together with some ivory crinkle ribbon adorned with a Zva Creative flower.  This is such a wonderful set - I almost feel like I'm there...now all I need is to ACTUALLY go there! *sigh...someday*

Ooh-lala

I stamped the Eiffel Tower image onto some more of the Authentique papers that had text as a pattern and then I trimmed it out and layered it onto a piece of pink cardstock which I layered onto the frame from the set.

Eifel

The sentiment was stamped and I added a few teeny pearls for embellishment.

My second project features the Labels 25 set.  Obviously, this set is made to coordinate with Spellbinders' Labels 25 Nestabilities dies.  I don't have this set yet, but I'm loving the shape of it.  Even if you don't have these new dies, the images are easy enough to trim out with a pair of sharp scissors, a pair of good eyes, and a steady hand. *giggle*...well one out of three ain't bad. (guess which one I have)

Labels-25-Full

I created my banner layer using Heirloom Patterns (featured yesterday) on which I tucked some wonderful burgundy lace that was given to me by Nina Brackett when I met her at CHA a couple of years ago. I die cut an accent piece from the Fleur de lis Accents set and applied Studio Multi-Medium to it and sprinkled on some wonderful glitter.

Labels-25-embel

I stamped my label onto the same cardstock used for the base, and embossed it with white embossing powder and then layered another label image from the set on top using foam dimensional dots. I accented the label with Zva Rhinestones, flowers, seam binding and a touch of pink tulle.

Next on your Waltz is the creative blog of Jennifer Holmes.  Be sure to stop by and comment because it could earn you a free set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Remember, you have until March 3 to comment on as many of the Design Team blogs as possible because a winner will be selected at that time from one of the Design Team members’ blogs to win a Waltzingmouse Stamp set of choice.

Now, if you are ready, be sure to waltz on over to Jennifer Holmes' blog where the fun continues. Thanks for stopping by today and I invite you to enjoy the waltz!

Card #2

In Living Color on Leap Day

Hi all.  Happy Leap Day. That day that only comes along once every 4 years, but it sparks all kinds of fun and interest from those who are celebrating birthdays that only come along every 4 years to special parties just to celebrate this event.  How will you celebrate Leap Day?

I’m celebrating by starting my day by sharing this card that I recently made using a newer set by Paper Smooches; Spring Fling.

This card contains a sentiment that is a happy reminder to live each day in color, even Leap Day.  Vibrant, full-out joy is what I hope this card conveys because COLOR brings life, fun and a sense of joy to just about everything.

IHP-PS-022912

It's a simple card but the color is what makes it special.  My bottom borders are multiple cuts of cardstock using the Scallop Diamond Border punch which I layered on the white cardstock base.  I die cut a small Lacey Circle in yellow to mimic the sun so that my sweet smiling flower would have a happy background.

The sentiment was stamped onto a small tag from Staples and I used a Tiny Attacher to staple the baker’s twine to the tag.  I colored the flower and paintbrush using Copic markers and attached them both to the card using foam pop dots.

I’m happy you stopped by today and I hope you will live YOUR day in color.

Day 3–Waltzingmouse Stamps February Release Previews

Hi all!  Have you been enjoying the wonderful designs that the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team has been creating?  I always find it so interesting to see how many variations the team comes up with, all using the same stamp sets. It just goes to show you how very versatile Waltzingmouse Stamps are and the amazing creative team of crafters show off that versatility so very well.

Well, we are back for the 3rd day of previews of the 9 sets that will be released tomorrow.  Today we are sharing projects we have made using Compact Sentiments and Heirloom Patterns.  I’m especially excited for one design team member in particular, Anya Schrier, who is a new illustrator at WMS, in addition to her DT and Gallery Coordinator roles.  Anya designed the Heirloom Patterns set, which will quickly become my go-to set for creative backgrounds.  Wait until you see the entire set!

My project today combines both sets being previewed - all in one project.  My color scheme was inspired by a magazine ad I recently saw and knew I wanted to use the wonderful herringbone design – one of several in this set.

Heirloom-Birthday

I stamped the fun houndstooth pattern in black and then used my Diamond Lace Border punch to finish the edge and did the same for two colors of green which were layered beneath.  As an embellishment, I hung a little green heart shaped paperclip that I picked up at Target, to some satin ribbon that I had in my stash.

I know that I will be using this Heirloom Patterns set A LOT!  I’m totally smitten!

The sentiment is from the Compact Sentiments set, which you are going to love because it certainly lives up to its title lots of sentiments in a compact space.  A sentiment for all occasions!

That’s it for me today, but you won’t want to miss the creativity from the rest of the team today.  Prepare to be amazed! =)
