Waltzingmouse Stamps November 2012 Preview–Day 1

Hello crafty friends – long time no blog! You probably know by now that even though I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been crafting up a storm. I’ve been doing lots of scrapbooking and taking lots of online classes, and even fitting in some organization behind the scenes. Lots of busy work that doesn’t seem very crafty or interesting.

But today I have something REALLY interesting as Waltzingmouse Stamps begins it’s previews for their newest release that will happening on November 2nd. Yep, tons of great new stamp sets and cut files to go along with them. So let’s get to it, shall we?

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card with a western flair. I have lots of family that come from the Midwest (and some even still live there) so I know they will appreciate the down-home country goodness with this card that is made with two of the eight new sets coming your way on the 2nd.

May I introduce you to Yonder Star and it’s sister set, Yonder Star Background. That’s right…Claire has three new background stamps that are sure to step up your crafting in new and imaginative ways.

On a kraft card base I partially stamped the Yonder Star background set onto a part of the cardstock. Love the rustic and worn look of this stamp. Claire’s new background stamps are the perfect size for card makers,  set at a wonderful 4.5 X 5.75” size, which more more than covers an A2 card base. Sweet!

Here is a close up view of the quilted look pattern of this awesome background stamp.

The sentiment is also very rustic, adding to the country feel of these sets. I stamped the sentiment onto ivory cardstock and layered it on a matt of Fresh Asparagus cardstock that sports distressed edges. The back of the sentiment panel is a matt of Cranberry Tart cardstock stamped with some of the images from the Yonder Star set. The pattern reminds me of a horse blanket I used to have. (giggle – yes, I had a horse as a young girl) I finished the card by embellishing it with a few chipboard holly leaves and metal brads.

That’s if or me today, but you won’t want to miss what the rest of the WMS Design Team has to share with you today. Just check this out!

I love your card. The "Blanket" background you made to mount your sentiment on is fabulous with all the bits of stamps from the set. I love that you only used a portion of the Total big Background stamp off to the side of your card. Perfect! Such a very lovely card, Thanks for the inspiration.

I adore this design! It is rustic yet still feels so cozy. I just love how you stamped the large star on your sentiment panel - the design peeking out the bottom brings it all together. Love this!
