Stampendous-Clear Scrap Blog Hop

csstampendous

Hello crafty people.  All week members of the Stampendous Design Team have teamed up with Clear Scraps to create fun projects using products from both companies.  Today I want to share with you an acrylic book that I made to capture fun memories from my upcoming 4th of July holiday.  We always spend time with family and so the theme of my album is The Four “F’s” of the 4th…Family, Food, Fun and Fireworks. Be warned..this is a photo heavy post.  When you create a mini book, there are lots of details to share, so I hope you will bear with me.

STMCLSC01

5 wonderful pages for me to fill with photos and special memorabilia.  My cover page is a combination of stamping (Geo Bubbles) and patterned papers on the back side of the front acrylic cover.  My title was created by stamping the background stamp Distress Type several times in red ink and then cut out the letters I wanted and assembled them in a fun and wonky way, because that is the way my 4th of July holidays are..fun and wonky.  HA!

STMCLSC02

Stars and stripes are a go-to image for any patriotic holiday, so I didn’t hold back with my red glittered chipboard star and striped twill ribbon.

STMCLSC03

The first inside page contains my theme title – the Four “F’s” of the 4th to the side of a journaling spot.

STMCLSC04

The right side is ready for a photograph or two.  The two strips of patterned paper act as placeholders, and will be the background for my picture(s).  My first “F” stands for family, which is an important part of this celebration.  I don’t get to see my children often enough, so when we do all get together, it’s reason enough to celebrate!

STMCLSC05

I used removable adhesive on many of my elements so that I can easily move things around if I need to once I get the photos and stories I want to use.  The second page is the 2nd “F” – which is “food”.  My daughter-in-law always has enough food to feed an army and it’s food that I don’t normally get to have, which makes it extra special, so the food served on the 4th deserves a page too, and is definitely part of the festivities.

STMCLSC06

The 3rd “F” stands for FUN, and there is always plenty of that…from watching the kids being big goofs to laughing and talking – just catching up since the last time we were all together.  Being in the presence of my loved ones is always fun for me!

STMCLSC07

I’ve created plenty of spots for journaling because telling the stories is what makes the memories come alive for me.  I stamped the Cling Sun Swirls for a reminder of the fun in the sun that is always part of the 4th!

STMCLSC08

The Patriotic Pair set was perfect to use – the little Uncle Sam just makes me smile.  I added a paper bunting beneath the image and layered some red chunky glitter glass on a chipboard flourish.

STMCLSC10

The last page is the 4th “F” of the 4th, which naturally is the fireworks, the culmination of an awesome Independence Day celebration.

STMCLSC09

I stamped the Cling Stitched July image onto dotted patterned paper and added some red glitter to bling it up.  With a bit of bakers twine and buttons, my last page is ready for a photo or two of the pyrotechnic show.

STMCLSC11

That’s it for me today.  I’m ready for the Independence holiday and to save all the memories from the event. And now if you are ready, we have a great group of creative crafters ready to share their projects with you.
