Hey all. Welcome back for day two of the Waltzingmouse Stamps February Release previews. We started the DT preview posts yesterday, and they will continue through the 29th (Release Day). Today the design team is focusing their attention on two sets which have names you may be familiar with; Nordic and Frippery. No - those aren't the names of the new sets, but the feel to the two new sets that will be released on Wednesday certainly have a familiarity to them. The two sets that are coming your way are Nordic Spring and Florentine Frippery.
My first card has a background that I created with a border image from the Nordic Spring set. I stitched the panel and then layered on a square panel - see those sweet little hearts in each corner? Then I had this round Silhouette die cut that I had created while just goofing around with my new toy, and it made a nice base for this lovely butterfly. I inked the butterfly image with green and then added aqua ink around the butterfly edges before stamping onto white cardstock and trimming out the image.
I stamped the sentiment before I added the crystal bling and border of white flowers along the bottom.
Something that you can't see in my photo is the wobble spring that the butterfly is mounted on. This Action Wobble Spring was a product sample I got at CHA and thought this would be a perfect application for it. When you move the card even the slightest, the butterfly wobbles in the neatest way. You can see this fun little spring thing in action here.
My second project really focuses on the images in the Florentine Frippery set.
I used one of the Florentine Frippery border image to stamp the border along the bottom to which I added my sentiment and tiny bits of bling.
I stamped the labels image three times; two in red, one in black, then after cutting them out, I folded then twice from corner to corner and layered them opposite one another. I used a Making Memory brad from my stash to hold them together and then layered some tulle and feathers before attaching them to the card.
That’s it for me today…but wait until you see what these Design Team members have to share with you.
