It’s a Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party–You’re Invited!

Hello crafty people!  It’s the 17th of the month and that means it’s time for a Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party.  We’ve transformed the Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz with a new year, a new name, using the same GREAT images from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Blog-Party-Logo 70%25

To see all the awesome projects, full of WMS inspiration, check out the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog where you will find all the links to the wonderful, creative projects all focusing on “Something Sweet”.  I can’t think of anything sweeter than my honey.  And this card is for him filled with the sweetest hugs and kisses, created just for him.

I used a single card design that I got from the On-Line Card Classes, Day 1 project.  My card is a 5.25” square card. I created a 3-3/4” square using Eclipse Masking Tape and masked off the center of the card.  I then stamped a patterned from the Pic-Nic Patterns set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I then removed the mask and was left with a nice white square surrounded by this great pattern.

Using some ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon January Club pack, I created a frame for my sentiment from the Sweethearts set and little “xo” embellishments from the Say it with Style set that I stamped using red chalk ink.  The embellishments were stamped onto scrap cardstock and shaped with a circle punch and adhered using foam dimensional dots

A clean and simple card expressing my sweet affection for my patient and loving husband.

Now it’s your turn to see ALL the creative “sweetness” created by the other talented crafters participating in the Blog Party.  Check it out right now on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog

PS:  Today is an extra special day for my blog readers.  I have a wonderful bounty of prizes that one of my readers will receive.  The 15th of January was my birthday and I wanted to celebrate with you by offering some blog candy.  I meant to post this opportunity on my birthday, but I got caught up in the day and never got it posted.

To enter the random drawing, just leave a comment and tell me your best birthday memory.  I’ll select a winner on the 20th and will announce the winner here on the 21st.  What’s up for grabs?

Wonderful card Lynne. I love the xo spots.

Hope you had a great birthday. My birthday is in the winter and one of my favourite memories is building an igloo with my Dad to have my birthday tea in - unfortunately we didn't make it big enough to actually get into though ;-)

Belated Happy Birthday Lynn. Thanks so much for the chance to win amazing goodies.

Birthday memories - Having all my friends around and having a proper grown up tea party with china cups (we were probably only about 9 at the time). We all had beautiful party dresses and ate little tiny sandwiches, cupcakes and cookies (all made by my Mom). Still have the photos!

Great card. Best birthday memory-having all my friends over when I was younger and celebrating with a barbie cake using a real barbie doll. The dress was the cake.

Belated birthday wishes Lynn, I hope you were thoroughly spoilt!
Gorgeous card for your hubby, live the CAS design, and that trellis background is one of my favourite WMS patterns, super yummy!
Wow for your wonderful candy too, what an amazing and generous give away!
My most memorable birthday was my 40th, a little while ago (ahem!) and we went to Florence in Italy for 4 days - we first went there for our honeymoon, and it was still as spectacular as I remembered it!
Enjoy the Party!

LOVE this!
Your background is awesome!
And framing with the fabby ribbon...
love!
Just a fabulous CAS...
those little "xo"'s are so perfect! :)
2nd...
Happy Belated Birthday!!
Hope it was fabulous for you!
And best birthday memory...
please don't think I've never had great birthdays...
I know I have...
but unfortunately it's also 9/11 so recent years haven't see me celebrating.
But 2 years ago...
I came in on my birthday to find an e-mail from a stamp company announcing I had won 1st place in a stamp contest...
and they also wanted 5 more of my cards for a shopping spree worth $100!
I was thrilled!
And then last year...
I was asked to be a MM right before my B-day and I count that as an all time wonderful B-day surprise!:)
Those are my best recent memories...
sorry I'm so dull but I was beyond words thrilled! :)

Happy Birthday, from one January baby to another. If it's your birthday, how come someone else gets the presents? Love your CAS card layout, though I am sure there was nothing simple about the masking. The crisp red and white is very striking. Once again, belated Happy Birthday and I hope you are like me and choose to celebrate for as long as possible!

Hi Lynn! Happy Birthday!! Hope you had a fabulous, fabulous day!! Your card is so sweet!! I LOVE the colours, the background and the cute little xo xo xo!!
Hmm...best birthday memory would be the year when I had 2 bouquets of beautiful flowers delivered on my birthday - it was most unexpected, as my friends know I am a simple girl. It was a lovely surprise & a treasured memory. Thanks, Lynn for a chance in such a generous giveaway! {hugs}

Happy Belated Birthday Lynn! Your card is adorable! Love the little XO "buttons"!

As far as birthday memories, one of my favorites was when I was 5 years old and we had "JJ the clown" (yeah a real clown) at my party! I think half of the guests were traumatized (lol), but at the time I thought it was funny to have a clown at our house:) More recently, I have fond memories of that boys at around 3 or 4 just learning how to sing Happy Birthday. Sweet memories!

My fave birthday memory was my 30th birthay... I had originally planned to go to Las Vegas with a group of friends but plans had changed since I was pregnant with my third child.... hubby surprized me with a 3D scan and it was so special {and very different from what my birthday would have been in Vegas.. lol!}

Oh so fresh and fun with the little window with the xo trio :) Love the ribbon around the frame and that awesomely-stamped Pic-Nic Pattern background (love that image from it!) So glad that you had a great birthday! I count my 40th on December 6th as a really fun one since we went to see the Buffalo Bills...and it wasn't even freezing!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. This is a great card design. My best birthday memory is when I turned 19 and was able to buy my first beer. It didn't last long as they changed the drinking age 2 months after.

Happy Belated Birthday!!! My favorite birthday was my 30th, I was just a few days from having my first baby and we were all so excited

Happy Belated Birthday! Love your card! I might have to case this for DHs valentine card. I've been blessed enough to have many wonderful birthdays but one of the best was my 22nd. My husband (at the time we had only been dating 6 months) gave me a car. I knew he was a keeper! It wasn't a brand new car but it was much better than the bucket of bolts I had at the time. 20 years later, he's still a keeper.

Lynn, this is such a neat card. Thanks for sharing how you did it - I never would have guessed. Belated happy birthday! My fave birthday was a few years ago. I am a December baby and I was in Maui for my birthday. Only time I was ever WARM on my birthday!

LaurieJ said...

Such a sweet card, Lynn! The red and white is so crisp and the ribbon is just perfect. Your honey will love it!

And Happy Birthday! Hope you had a special day. I think my most memorable birthday was in 1998 when I went to England for the first time. I went to visit my husband (then boyfriend - it was a very long distance relationship) and everything about the trip was wonderful. He had a special evening planned for my birthday - we had theater tickets for Phantom of Opera in London. Fantastic!

SueB said...

Great card; I made one for my DH last week too! As for b'days, they're all sweet; I figure getting another year older's a blessing ... you have to consider the alternative!

Happy Birthday Lynn! My most memorable birthday was a surprise trip to Disneyland...my sister picked me up in the morning and we flew to Disneyland for the day and we had a blast, what a great time and the best memories.

Love your card Lynn! My most memorable birthday was a few years ago when I got to celebrate it with Mick and the boys...well, it WAS my birthday and they WERE there too (along with a few thousand other fans). There was a full autumn moon and it was a warm San Francisco night. A very fun and memorable night! I was hoarse for a week! Wonderful blog candy! Thank you for the chance to win. Oh, and a very happy (though sadly belated) birthday!

Lynn, this is a stunner with the sweet ribbon frame, stamped border, and the xo and sentiment just pop! Happy belated birthday! One funny birthday memory is when I turned 40, and my students copied my senior high school photo and each wore it as well as posted it throughout the school even on a Last of the Mohicans movie poster-Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stowe with my young face in a romantic embrace--truly hilarious!

Sigh, what a Totally beautiful and romantic card you've made. You always inspire me!!! When I grow up, I hope I am YOU!!!

And happy belated birthday, girlfriend!!! May the joy and blessings last all year long until you have another.

My favorite birthday memory had to have been my 50th (egads!) birthday. As you can probably derive from my screen moniker, my hubby calls me "Monkey". So for my birthday, he had a HUGE banner made that he strung over the garage doors OUTSIDE for the world to see ... it said "Happy 50th birthday, Monkey!" Bright yellow writing on black background! Well, unfortunately, a next door neighbor died 2 days before and his family (Jewish) were sitting Shiva, with a rabbi attending. This rabbi was stereotypical in his appearance -- long, long gray frizzled beard, sort of hunched over as if always over a prayer book, long dark coat and big hat. He came outside after a service in my neighbors and found me and my other neighbor in my driveway, talking about the birthday and other events in the neighborhood. The rabbi strolled up, studied the sign and said, "Which one of you is the Monkey?" I smiled and said, that'd be me. He responded, "well, you don't look much like a monkey. Then again, you don't look 50 either. Mazel Tov!" I just loved it. We had a great party that night that my hubby threw for my friends at a restaurant, and I loved telling the rabbi's greeting.

Thank you for the opportunity to win delicious candy!!

Fondly,
Ellen ♥ CardMonkey

I love this card, Lynn. I'm still hoping to play with this card sketch from the online class. Love the picnic patterns, it creates the perfect frame to your sentiment.

Best birthday memory....gosh. Probably my last big party (35). I was having a wee meltdown about this age and decided to have a party to help me get over it. ;) In an effort to merge my different groups of friends/family I held a murder mystery party and I was soooooo impressed and thankful that all forty of my guests truly got into the spirit of the night. Costumes were splendid as was the role-playing. And my twin brother outshone them all - not bad for an Army dude who doesn't do the "flippant" stuff of life real well. Now I'm facing down 40 and I'm ok with it....seems to be the birthdays ending in 5's that hurt more, lol.

I love your striking card. The red and white is so bold, but the hearts add sweet.

Happy Belated Birthday!!!! My best birthday memory was #40. We, my family and my parents, planned a week's vacation at the beach. I celebrated with cake and prosecco at sunset with the 6 most important people in the world. Then my son surprised me by facetiming my best friend in so she could celebrate with me. She was the icing on the cake. lol

Happy Birthday! My best birthday memory would have to be the cake my mother aways made for me. It was an angel food cake that she sliced horizontally into 4 layers and filled with chocolate pudding. Then she frosted the cake with fresh whipped cream. Absolutely wonderful!!!

What a great card. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.

One of my best birthday memories was my 35th. I was working for my church. The chairman of our outreach committee had scheduled a meeting that day and we were going to lunch after the meeting at Hannegan's in Laclede's Landing along witht he pastor and his wife. As we were finishing lunch, a fellow in a funky costume came to our table, asked which one was Judy, then proceeded to deliver a singing telegram to me from the pastor and his wife. It was truly a Kodak moment.

Love your card Lynn and Happy Birthday to you! I hope you had a great one. My favorite birthday was my 16th. My Dad threw me a sweet 16 party and chaperoned. It was so much fun, because it was also Fathers day. He has since passed on, but I will always remember the fun we had. Hugs Lori

This is really belated at this point, but it's never too late to wish someone a great beginning to another fantastic year of life! My BEST birthday memory? Well, I have to admit that it was when my ex-husband presented me with dinner at a very high-end restaurant in New Orleans! Oh, I forgot to mention that we lived in St.Louis at the time, and he had a friend fly his personal plane down for the evening and because I had to be back at work the next day, we flew back 5 hours later! Wow, whirlwind birthday! Of course, the marriage kinda lasted about that long too! LOL! Best wishes, Lynn!
