WMS October 2011 Preview–Day 3

Here we are - the last day of the previews of the Waltzingmouse Stamps October Release.  Tomorrow is the big day - Release Day.  The Design Team will have samples for you tomorrow, but it will be in the form of a BLOG WALTZ, so check back tomorrow for that.  But today, the team is focusing our attention on two great new sets to be released tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 15th) 2011 Holiday Ornaments and Santa's Coming to Town.

My first project is a card using three of the smaller ornament images that I stamped as though they were hanging from a branch from the Festive Foliage set.  I used three different embossing powders on the ornaments; copper, gold and red glitter embossing powder.

2011-Holiday-Ornament-Full

I used Memento markers to color the branch image before stamping onto white cardstock. I highlighted the pine cones using Cinnamon Stickles.

I then layered this onto a die cut green mat before adhering it to the card base where I created my own patterned paper by stamping one of the "empty" ornaments, repeatedly using Latte ink. I finished the card off with two different green ribbons.

My second project is a fun gift tag that I created using another fun image from the 2011 Holiday Ornaments set.  I started out by using my Grand Calibur and die cutting a piece of patterned paper and a piece of chipboard from the 2011 Heritage Die Nestabilities.  I knew that I wanted more stability than just patterned paper for this tag.  I adhered them together using PVA glue and proceeded to layer paper from the Jingle collection for Lily Bee Designs.  I stamped one of the large ornament images onto the mint cardstock with Fired Brick distress ink and die cut it, attaching it to the tag.

Ornament-Tag

My small "to/from" label is from the Nordic Winter set, which I shared with you on Wednesday. I stamped it onto ivory cardstock and sponged some distress ink around the edges before placing it into the metal frame that I embellishment with two plastic flowers from my stash.

Ornament-Tag-CU

My last project is a card using the Santa's Coming to Town set  A fun set that will have you making cards, and gift tags in a hurry.

Coming-to-town

Using some awesome papers from the Cosmo Cricket’s Mitten Weather, I created a base and banner layer for this great sentiment.  I die cut the 2011 Heritage Ornaments from the same Mitten Weather papers and layered them before attaching the sentiment that I stamped on white and trimmed out.

Coming-to-townCU

Using my Versamark marker, I added some clear embossing powder to the top of the ornament to give it some dimension.

Coming-to-towntag

I added some ribbon to the bottom of the card before I attached a tag I created by stamping in light green, a faint snowflake and then stamped the sentiment.  To finish off the embellishments, I added glitter to the double layered chipboard snowflakes.

Wauw, very pretty, Lynn! I especially love that first card! Love the lines and the layout of it! And gorgeous embossing!! I was sorry to hear you don't have any nearby friends to enjoy a crafting day with.. The friends I met last weekend live one hour driving from me, but my best friend Marit lives very nearby! Only 15 minutes driving and we can enjoy! So I'm very blessed with that! Good thing we have internet and blogging, so we all can share our creations and our love for these stamps together!!!!!
Hugs, Wendy

Lynn, your cards and the tag are so pretty, very well done. The embossed ornaments and the ornament background on the first card are very beautiful. On that beautifully shaped tag I like all the different layers and the colours. And on the third card I think Santa looks just great on that ornament and the pretty papers are a good match.

Kind regards
Carola

Lynn, you have such an incredible touch when it comes to embellishing! Always such lovely detail, texture, and SPARKLE! The tag might eek out as my fave just because of it's rustic loveliness! You knocked it out of the park with these sets today!

You always have the perfect embellishments. Your tag is so amazing I could never bear to write on it and I just love the aqua and red combo. I think we were all loving to have a tree branch to hang our ornaments from!
