I{heart}Papers October Design Team Challenge

Hi crafty people.  I’m happy that you stopped by today because the Design Team for I{heart}Papers is having their monthly challenge.  This month, Tsukineko is sponsoring the challenge and we are highlighting their shimmer spray called Fireworks.  This product, introduced at CHA this past July, creates colorful, sparkly and shimmery effects on both light and dark papers, with all colors complimentary to Memento colors, are easy to use and quick drying on most paper surfaces, are water based, acid free and non-toxic.

For my project today, I’m sharing a scrapbook page using pictures that are quite old, but I wanted to focus on how my family has grown, and my journaling reflects that. It's not often that I scrapbook, although I love it, and am always pleased with the fact that I have put pen to paper and jotted down another memory or thought about some photographs.

I used these color-rich mists in drop form for my project.  Rather than spray all of the colors on my page base, I took the spray top off and let the droplets of color fall onto my page.  I felt this added some motion and subtle color to my background.  It adds just the right amount of background interest so that my kraft paper doesn’t get lost in the background.

In addition to my photographs, I added a scallop border using Authentique’s Blissful collection and topped that off with some beautiful lace tape.

My circle embellishments and frame for my date stamp are corrugated elements from Jillibean Soup.  I sprayed them all with the Dandelion Fireworks for a little shimmer and to help them blend with the color palette.  I then added some Basic Grey glazed brads that I had in my stash.

I’m happy that I have finally put these pictures on a page and left some thought about how I feel about my growing family.  From two springs forth abundant blessings.  That’s my family!

Now if you are ready for more Fireworks fun, check out the blogs of these DT members, and don’t forget to leave a comment because you could be the winner of a giveaway - Kate will select a random winner from all the comments left on the blog hop and then you could be the lucky commenter who will win some free Fireworks! So hop along! The more you hop and comment, the more chances you have to win!  Winner will be announced on Friday so you have until Thursday 9PM EST to leave those comments!

Thanks for doing a layout! I love to see them on hops, and this one is gorgeous. The glimmer adds another layer of interest without making this overly fussy. Thanks!
