Howdy, crafty people. It really seems like it’s been such a long time since Waltzingmouse Stamps has had a release of new stamps, but the long wait is over and you won’t be disappointed when you see what has been keeping Claire so busy.
Today, the WMS Design Team will be sharing projects they have created using two of the most rootin’-tootin’-wild-west-brocho-bustin’ sets to hit the prairie in a coon’s age. HA! But before we get to my projects today, I hope that you will pop into Claire’s blog for some very important announcements. (Really – you won’t want to miss the news)
I had so much fun playing with these two sets, and I’m not really all that into the country theme, but what’s NOT to love about cowboys, boots and denim jeans? It’s as much a part of Americana as you can get, and I can see me using these set for a long time – especially with the wide range of sentiments and images all packed into these sets.
I stamped the tan paper using the woodgrain image and used that as a base for my sentiment.
I lassoed up a little twine as a backing for the boots that sit atop a piece of denim that I cut for my lower panel and added star eyelets.
The sentiment is layered onto distressed edged blue paper and framed with another piece of cardstock stamped with the woodgrain image all layered on a piece of a burlap sack I had saved for just this kind of project.
My second project brought back some old memories of when I was a very little girl and my dad would sing that old Roy Rogers & Dale Evans tune, “Happy Trails to You”.
Using the fun little horseshoe image, I stamped it along a trail onto the Kraft cardstock. I used a technique called the Burnt Edge technique to give the Kraft cardstock the look of very old, burnt edged paper. You can view the tutorial on how I did that on Splitcoaststampers.com right HERE.
See that southwestern blanket patterned…that’s another awesome background design included in the Way Out West set. I stamped this background to mat the circle of stars that I used to highlight my sentiment. I used the horseshoe for the word “you”. I thought it was a fun way to wish someone well who might be leaving, either for a little or for a long while.
Ok – that’s it for me today, little buckaroos. Are you ready to see more inspiration using these two new sets? Be sure to check out the blogs of these Design Team Members:

I’m much obliged that you moseyed on over to my neck of the woods today. (funny how using western stamps will put a twang in my slang). Have a rip-roarin’ day!
