Hi crafty people…and welcome to the February Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. This is a chance for all FANS of WMS to get their “mouse’ on and create projects using these great images. This month we were asked to create a project with buttons. Not a problem for me, as I have plenty, thank you!
The Design Team is also playing a little game this month and asking you to “guess the theme” of one of our stamp sets that will be released March 1st. You can read all the details of how to play on Claire’s blog. Be sure to check out the deets before you Waltz along…you’ll want to know! =) There are prizes involved!
Since I’m always looking for masculine cards, I thought this was a great opportunity to add a manly card to my stash. I actually created this card for my son, and if he doesn’t see this here, I’ll save it and send it to him for Father’s Day. He really is a great dad, and looking back at him when he was much younger, I had my doubts, but he has really stepped up and turned into a man and father that I’m so very proud of.
Using the Free Spirit Boy set I stamped the circle cluster in VersaMark and then embossed with Shabby Shutters Distress Embossing Powder which gave it a rough and rugged texture. I added my buttons in coordinating colors using Glossy Accents.
After die cutting a couple of stars using my Nestabilities, I added glitter and stickles to highlight the edges, which goes along with my accolades for my son. (sparkling – a super star) My sentiment is from the Free Spirit Sentiments set that I stamped within a frame from the Vintage Labels 1 set.
I hope I can continue with my masculine card mojo so that I can get back in the saddle and build up my stash because when I need a man card, I need it NOW and often the mojo just isn’t with me when I need it most.

Such a sweet card Lynn. Love the use of your buttons! :c) Hugs, Robyn
Lynn, great masculine card for your son...he's sure to think that you are the best MOM, too! It is hard to get back in the saddle after the mojo takes a hiatus, but you managed this so well and now you are certainly prepared! Love the glitter all around the stars, and those green buttons sure do light up this card!
This is fab, loving the colour combo you have used. Thanks for inspiration.

Hi Lynn, thank you for your lovely comment, I missed the blog waltz last week as my mojo was in the doldrums and I didn't make anything or blog at all. But I am on a rool at the moment lol, and what a stunning masculine card you have made. I always find them the hardest. I always struggled with CAS in the past, but since trying my hand at Less is More and the One Layer Wednesday challenge I am finding it easier! Paulinexx
I love this card, Lynn! I never ordered this stamp, because I had no idea what to do with it, but what you made is so pretty! Great idea to put buttons in it and with the stars - it's just perfect! Wonderful card!
Hugs, Wendy
