Hey there crafty people. I hope your weekend is off to a grand start. It’s a happy day for me as I celebrate another birthday. Someone at work mentioned that she doesn’t like birthdays. I think what she really meant was that she doesn’t like getting older. I have a different perspective on birthdays; I’m getting older, but I’m also one year closer to retirement. Now THAT makes me happy!
I’m happy to be playing along with today’s Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge. For complete details, be sure to check out the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge blog. Here is the sketch for this week.
I just adore geometric designs – and if you have been visiting my blog for any length of time, you probably already know this, so you can see why I just love the sketch from which I based my card.
Wanting to use some happy colors, I found a picture of some beautiful flowers on the internet and picked the colors form this picture. These flowers make me smile. I will often turn to the internet for color inspiration.
I cut various colors of cardstock in yellow, blue, purple and red, placing them approximately as shown in the sketch I adhered them all onto a white card base. Using the stitching image from Off Beat Backgrounds I adding some “faux stitches” before adding the Zva Creative crystal that I colored with Copic Markers to match the cardstock.
The sentiment, “Emergency Hugs” is an image that is part of the images offered by Waltzingmouse Stamps among many other designers in a fund raiser to assist Katie Renz. You can get all the details on Jak Heath’s blog post.
I printed the sentiment out on yellow cardstock and cut around the letters before adhering them with foam dimensional dots. to the center section of the card.
I hope you are inspired, as I was, with this sketch and decide to play along.
I appreciate you checking in today. Until next time, stay crafty.
