Gearing up for the “Month of Love”

Yep – before you can say St. Valentine, January will be a memory, and we’ll be well on our way to the month of Love – February…home to St. Valentine’s Day filled with candy, hearts and terms of endearment that we lavish on those who melt our heart and give our lives meaning.  This month is already flying by…it’s the 11th, for crying out loud.  The month is nearly half over!

I have a fun pocket card to share with you that I created with more of the wonderfully sassy papers from Echo Park’s Be Mine Collection.

The-Love-you-Give-Front

I cut one of the 12 X 12 papers down to 11.25 X 5.5, scored and folded at 4.25 and 8.5 leaving a flap that I folded in toward the center, adhered with I {stick} Papers red line tape at top and bottom allowing for a card to slip into the pocket.

The sentiment that I stamped on the front of the card using black ink is from Unity.  I colored the two hearts using Copic markers.

The-Love-you-Give-Left

With a pocket card you have lots of real estate on which to express your love.  I stamped this Technique Tuesday sentiment onto pink cardstock, attached it to another piece of paper from the Collection and hugged it with fancy brackets from Pink Paislee.

The-Love-you-Give-IN

The-Love-you-Give-card

The insert card was made using a Tim Holtz Die – cutting two and placing them back to back, catching the edge of the card so you can grab it and pull the card out.  I haven’t decided if I’ll write a personal note, or attach a little photo, but either way, it’s a nice little addition.

The-Love-you-Give-pocket

Using some of the letters also included in the Collection, I placed, “I love you” prominently for all the world to see.

So there you have it.  Another creation using the fun papers and embellishments from the Be Mine Collection.  I’m trying to use as much as I can of this collection; reaching for these papers first until all I have left are tiny scraps,  because I tend to horde collections like this and what good is it if I don’t use it, right?  All these fun patterns in the lovely colors just screaming to be used for the “month of love”.

Thanks for peeking in today.  Your visits and comments are so very welcome and appreciated.  Enjoy your Tuesday.

This would have been the perfect paper for my scrapbook swap. I was looking for a lined paper for journal boxes, but I guess I will have to settle for what I found. Archivers didn't have this, as far as I could see! :)

Gorgeous card Lynn. I love that big, bold sentiment in the front!
