Hold a Heart

Hi crafty people…happy Friday to you all!  There is magic in the air…can you feel it?  The weekend is just around the corner and that makes me giddy.  No matter what kind of week I’ve had, there is nothing that can put a smile on my face quicker than the anticipation of the weekend.  Today is a special day for a friend of mine, and owner of i {heart} papers…Kate!  Happy Birthday, my friend.  I’m looking forward to celebrating properly when I see you at CHA!

Hold-it-Forever

While the card I’m sharing with you today isn’t a birthday card, it IS a card of celebration - of sorts.  The celebration of love – whether the love of a spouse or significant other, or the love of a good friend.  The people I care about have a very special place in my heart.  And once there, always there because, as this sentiment says, “when you hold a heart, you hold it forever.

I used several elements from the paper pack from My Mind’s Eye,  Love Me DoI began with an ivory cardbase and layered patterned papers from the paper pack, even the ric rak and tag was from the set.  I had the ivory circle already cut using a circle nestabilities - from another project which I didn’t end up using.  The same goes for the glossy cardstock that I stamped my sentiment on. I had blended some alcohol ink and colored this glossy cardstock and didn’t use the entire sheet, so I hung onto it.  When I have pieces that I work on and don’t end up using on a project, I’ll often leave out on my table so that perhaps I can use them on something else.  I’m always happy when that happens because I don’t like to feel like I’m wasting supplies.

Odds and ends, some old elements and some new ones make for a fun card, wouldn’t you say?

Thanks for stopping by – I hope that you will stop by and wish Kate a happy birthday today.  I know she would love to hear from you! Have a wonderful day and a fantastic weekend.
