A June Waltz with Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team

Hi all – I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and relaxing Memorial Day.  I got home late yesterday from a great long weekend in Colorado Springs visiting my daughter and her boyfriend.  I wish we weren’t so far apart – I miss her so, but it sure makes for a sweet reunion.

Now it’s back to work today, UGH, but I’m happy to be participating in a fun event to kick off the week.

Since Waltzingmouse Stamps won't release new stamp sets this month, we thought it would be fun to feature some of the original stamp sets produced by Claire... sort of a retrospective. Claire has been revisiting some of her wonderful creations using her earlier sets all last week.  What a treat that has been!

If you are just now coming to the Waltz, please go to Claire Brennan’s blog, where the waltz begins.  From there, you can just follow the links to each of the participating design team members.  Perhaps you have followed the links and have arrived here from the blog of Julia Astonthat means you are right on track.

June-Wedding-Full

I chose to create a wedding card and matching candle using Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Celtic Heritage stamp set.  By stamping onto a small piece of tissue paper, I was able to melt the image and sentiment into the side of the candle.

June-Card-right

The card was created on a base of white with panels of silver metallic cardstock and black.  I added the embossed panel before attaching my focal point which is embellished with matching pearl flourishes from Zva Creative.  To add to the wedding elegance I tied the triple looped bow using the Bow Easy and attached it to the bottom of the card.

  June-Wedding-Candle

Here is a closer view the of candle.  While this candle could be burned, it’s probably more for decoration or a happy remembrance of the happy day.

June-Back-of-Candle

I added two heart flourishes, again from Zva Creative that easily adhered to the candle adding a touch of class to an otherwise ordinary pillar candle.

Are you ready to see more retro-inspiration?  Be sure to visit and comment on Anya Schrier’s blog.  In fact, if you are in the mood to perhaps win a great prize package from Waltzingmouse Stamps, be sure to leave a comment on all the Design Team blogs.  On Thursday at 11:59 Eastern time, Claire will choose a lucky winner from the comments left on her blog as well as selecting another winner from comments left on one of the blogs of the design team members.  The randomly chosen winner will get to select a Waltzingmouse Stamp set of their choosing. You don’t have to comment on all of the blogs to be eligible to win, but it sure increases your odds of being chosen. Have fun and good luck!
