Home is Where My Heart is

While it may be true that my house is in a total state of disarray at the moment, it’s still home.  I know that you all know what I’m talking about. It may be messy; it may be clean; it may need painting; it may be your perfect dream house.  Whatever the situation, your house is your home, not because of how it looks, but rather it’s your home because YOU live there.

But there is another reason your house is your home…because your heart resides there.  No, not the beating, muscular thing in your chest, but rather the thing or person that inspires you – gives you reason to smile – your muse.  They are that person that totally holds the key to your soul and the doorway of your happiness.

Key-to-my-heart

I created this card for the guy who holds the key to my heart…my husband.  Victor is so sweet to me and says the most endearing things.  I’m so lucky to have him in my life and for me, he holds the key to my heart. If you are lucky enough to have someone special like that in your life, cherish it because it really is more rare than most want to believe.

On a white card base, I layered papers from Basic Grey on a die cut using my Labels 11 Nestabilities and layered a little chipboard house and a whimsical polka dot heart from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Sweethearts set.

I stamped the sentiment twice-one on green and the other on pink, (from the same stamp set) and cut each word out so that I could align them to suit the flow of the card.  I couldn’t resist stamping the smallest heart image onto the little pink house.

I snipped a flower from a flower ribbon trim and added a wire to make it look like it was growing from the chipboard houses’ chimney. If you notice, I stamped the arrow image from this set, end to end, to create a border that is an anchor for the pompom trim.

Key-to-my-hear-insidet

To finish the card, I stamped a simple sentiment on the inside along with the ornate arrow.  Isn’t it a romantic image?

On a final note for today, I’d like to invite you to play along with the Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Design Team, as well as all friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps for a blog Waltz on June 17th.  Please check out Claire’s post HERE for all the details.  I hope you will join us!June-'10-blog-hop-logo I’m happy to have you join me today.  It really does my heart good to have you visit my little blog.  Until next time, have a great day.

A beautiful card and you are right: It is rare to have someone so special in your life. I am a lucky person who has someone like that as well. For 21 years Thomas is holding the key to my heart and I am more than grateful...

Awww....This is such a darling card, Lynn! You always pay attention to those tiny details that just 'make' a card! Like how you cut out the sentiment, and gave the chimney that delightful little flower! Great card, as always! I can relate to how you feel about your DH. For 37 years, my DH has been my soulmate, my dearest friend, and I love him more each day :)
