Gina K Designs’ June Preview – Day 1

Hi all.  I was pretty quiet all last week.  If you asked my husband, you would probably get a different opinion but as far as my blog is concerned, it was a relatively silent week.  I was working….really I was.
This is a busy week as Gina K Designs prepares for its release of their newest stamp sets.  Today I’m excited to show you projects that I’ve made using three new sets that will be available this coming Thursday right after their release party…more about that later.

My first project using images from a new set from Theresa Momber called Aloha.  If you are wanting an all purpose summer/tropical set, this is the one you won’t want to pass up.

Coconut-Cocktails
I used the coconut cocktail image because…well, it looked like a delicious treat.  I colored it with Copic markers and highlighted it with Distress Stickles and Smooch Top coat.
Coconut-Cocktail-CU
These sweet little plastic flowers have been in my stash forever and I was so tickled that I could use them by inserting small brads into their center before attaching them.

See the small flower border next to the sparkly ribbon…the one with the Liquid Pearls applied to their center? That is actually an image from the next set I’m sharing with you, In Stitches.

Hi
What do you do when you want the look of stitching, but you either don’t have a sewing machine or you don’t want to take the time to thread the machine with the color of thread you want to use, you can’t find a bobbin, or are just to lazy?  You stamp the stitching, naturally.  With this new fun set from Tami Mayberry, you will be “stitching” on everything.

On this card, I used two of the images from this set.  One image created a border around my patterned paper and the other created my scalloped border that I wrapped with stitched grosgrain ribbon.

HiCU The sentiment and the little birds are both rub-ons.  I love the fact that rub-ons are making a come-back because I have so many in my stash that I’d love an excuse to use them more often.

My last project uses images from Melanie Muenchinger’s newest set, Fun Year Round.

Happy-4th
With the Independence Day holiday just around the corner, I wanted to use this fun stamp set to create a patriotic greeting so I went with traditional red, white and blue.  I used the concentric circles, which I stamped and heat embossed, masking off portions I didn’t want covered.  Then I went back with sponge daubers and applied the red and blue ink before attaching some punched stars along with a few colored rhinestones.
Happy-4thCU
I even enhanced the interior of this card by adding a white panel and a few red stars.  The only thing missing is a personal note.

I'd like to invite you to attend the Release Party this Thursday, July 1st, beginning at 7 pm CDT on StampTV! There will be challenges, contest questions, and more samples from the designers on all the new stamp sets being released this month!  We'd love to have you join in the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
