Welcome to Friday and for taking the time to stop by today. The Zva Creative Design Team is joining together today to share projects that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a TON of fun!
Each designer's blog will share a unique sketch that was created with paper...and there's a twist! It's a sketch that's designed with both scrapbooker's and card makers in mind. In addition to having the design laid out for you, each blog will have it's own color combo. The sketch can be turned and the color placement can be changed around. If you see a flower element on a sketch, please feel free to change it to something else if you like. Each sketch is a 6 x 6 page, but you can adapt the design to be horizontal, vertical or even a circle! The colors don't have to be exact, just stay within the color family that's provided (including using a lighter or darker shade). Adding neutrals like white, brown or black is ok...and "making it your own" is always fun to see!
The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog and perhaps that is how you found your way here. She is linking to me and I will be linking to the next and so on. There are 12 design team members, so be prepared to be inspired along the way.
We would LOVE to see how YOU create with ZVA CREATIVE products! Please use this sketch to create any type of project (card, layout, home decor etc.) Your project must include Zva products to be in the running for one of the prizes. (check out i{heart}papers for an awesome selection of Zva products) Add a link to your project in the comments section under this blog post. (A permalink is best. but if you don't have that option, please list the post date of your project). You will have until midnight, Thursday, April 29th to play along.
Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a wonderful Zva Creative prize package...Woohooo! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to participate on as many blogs as you can (but you do not need to use all 13 sketches). The 5 winners will be announced on Friday, April 30th. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Friday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational projects that you may find.
So if you are ready, here is my sketch and color combination for the challenge.
I’ve been in such a springtime crafting mode lately. I can’t remember the last time I posted something that didn’t contain flowers, sunshine, or butterflies! Today’s project, based on the Zva sketch above, is no different. Filled with spring colors and images, I’m pleased with how easy it was to create a project using the sketch supplied to me.
Using a base of Gina K Designs Pure Luxury white base weight cardstock, I added a layer of white cardstock embossed with polka dots. The sentiment is one from Verve’s Asian Flair stamp set matted on a framing mat, paper pierced in a scalloped pattern. With a sentiment like this, it was natural to want to use ribbons on my card, which I layered on punched border in coordinating colors.
Doesn’t the black flourish from Zva Creative really pop from behind the grouping of Felt Floral Embellishments? Upon the layer of felt flowers, I used some of the gem brads, also from Zva.
I hope I’ve inspired you to play along with the challenge. Zva prize packages are wicked awesome so don’t miss out on your chance. Now for even more inspiration, and another opportunity to win, please hop on over to see: Lori Roop who will WOW you with her creative talent.
Thank you SO MUCH for joining us!

Oh, Lynn, this is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Yes, the black really gives this card a lot of extra punch. If I thought I'd have half a chance, I'd have applied for the Zva design team... I'm in love with all things Zva. They always seem to be the perfect touch to any project.

Pretty sketch and card! Wish I could play along but I don't have any ZVA. My scrapbook budget is limited to adhesives right now...luckily I have quite a stash of paper and other goodies to keep me in layouts that don't require any specific product! I did look at the website, and they ZVA has some cool stuff--don't think I can get any of it locally though.
