There are people in my life that don’t live close by and I really miss them. The older I get, and the more of life I experience (the good AND the bad), it becomes painfully apparent that life is fleeting and there is no time like the present to tell those I love how much they mean to me, and how their absence make me long for their company. That was the motivation for the card I’d like to share with you toda.
It’s another Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge Friday and Taylor provided this sketch for us to use as our springboard for our creativity:
I used papers from Taylor’s April Key Ingredient kit. Love the way the papers and cardstock all coordinate so well.
My card base is ivory and I used images from CreativiTea set, stamping the flower image onto a scrap of ivory and coloring with Copic Markers. I adhered the focal image onto a piece of cardstock punched with a scalloped punch and stamped a grid design before piercing holes. ![]()
I created the side panel, stamping another image from the same CreativiTea set and stitched along the left side and added lace trim along the right side.
A close up view of the flower shows absolutely NONE of the Spica Glitter pen that outlines the petals and is full of sparkle IRL. One of these days I’m going to learn the secret of photographing sparkle…until then, you’ll just have to take my word for it, ok?
Would you like to play along? All you need to do is create a project using the sketch above as your inspiration. Be sure to visit the Taylored Expressions blog and submit your card link to Mister Linkey. She will choose her top ten "Top Crops" and feature them on her blog next week. That could be you!! Need a little more inspiration? Make sure and stop by the rest of the Sketch Crews blogs to see their most adorable creations.
It's always fun to check out the various interpretation of the sketch by other members of the TE Sketch Crew because they each have their own style that they bring every week to their creations. I hope you will take a moment and stop by and see what they have posted to inspire you:
and don't forget Taylor!
