Felty Flowers

Felt is hot…not just in the literal sense, but it’s currently a very hot embellishment.  Everywhere you look there is felt.  And why not?  It’s a great product…it comes in many colors; you can sew it, die cut it, glue it, layer it – it’s wicked awesome.  So when I saw the new felt stuff that Kate got in at i{heart}papers got in, I was swooning with delight.  It is even self-adhesive, so there’s no fuss or muss to adhere it to a card or scrapbook page.

I just adore the new Kioshi paper by Basic Grey, with it’s wonderful spring pastels and fun patterns, and I knew I wanted to team up the papers with some of these awesome coordinating Woolies embellishments.

I created a mat using the Big Scallop Square Nestabilities, and cut about a third off.  I used my Fiskars Sunburst border punch and stopped them off with some Zva Creative pearls, and further embellished the border with this great green pom-pom and pink braded trim.

The sentiment is from the Friends set from Gina K Designs.  It works great with this design.  This card just makes me happy…just like these beautiful spring days.  It’s been really warm – unseasonably warm for April, but that’s spring for ya…warm enough to blow in a big thunderstorm.  It can storm all day – in my opinion, the thunder and warm muggy days sure beats the cold and snow of winter.  I hope you are enjoying this lovely spring day, whether it’s raining or snowing.
