The Promise of Spring

Hi all! I’m so happy that it’s Friday – and I’m pretty sure you are too!  Whether you work or not, we all can appreciate the anticipation

Do you know what this picture is?  It’s hope – hope peeking its little tender head out from the cold, frozen ground.  That’s right – it’s the promise of spring and Mother Nature letting us know that warmer days are not far away.  It’s as if the earth is taking a deep breath and exhaling just a touch of green.  Ah yes, spring is on its way!

Early-Spring-2010

With the promise of spring comes another Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge in addition to a new release of stamps.  Taylor is celebrating her own promise of spring with a special occasion.  It’s the one year anniversary of the Whimsical Wishes stamp collection and Taylor is celebrating during her release today.   She is giving away super cute digital images to anyone who places an order during the celebration.

If you are curious about what the images are, I’m using one of the 4 images today on my project.  Taylor gave us this sketch to jump start our creativity.TESC103

I chose to use the Easter Egg wreath image along with the sentiment, “The Promise of Spring” because I’m so full of excitement at the hint that spring is close at hand.

TESC103Promise of Spring I printed the digital image onto white cardstock on a laser jet printer and colored the image with Copic markers.  The Candle Glow Dark colored cardstock was stamped with a wood grain stamp by Hero Arts using Straw ink by Vivid.  For my embellishment, I added a Pretty Bird from the Kim Hughes collection which I also colored with Copic markers and added white spots using a white gel pen.

Would you like to play along?  All you need to do is create a project using the sketch above as your inspiration.  Be sure to visit the Taylored Expressions blog and enter your card link on Mister Linky.  Taylor will choose her top ten “Top Crops” and feature them on her blog next week.  Your project could be one of those ten!

If you need a little more inspiration be sure to stop by the blogs of the rest of the Sketch Crew because they each have their own style to amaze you!
