Of Mice and Men

Welcome to day of the of the Waltzingmouse Stamps April preview - Claire will be selling two sets that will be released on April 1st, and I'm not "foolin'" when I say, you are going to love this set especially if you have ANY men in your life.  My "manly" stamp images are pretty lacking, and I often have to resort to stars or some other generic image when I go to do a masculine card, but not now.  Now I have, Free Spirit-Boy and Free Spirit Sentiments to fill in all those MANLY images that have been missing for so long from my collection.

My project today is geared toward the graduate.  I only used two of the sentiments TONS of sentiments in the Free Spirit Sentiments set and only one image from the many "guy" stamps in Free Spirit-Boy set, but when you see ALL the images these two sets your creative imagination will run wild will possibilities.

Time-to-Launch

I combined the images with papers that I considered to be sort of "guy-like" with the colors combination and patterns – look!  No pink anywhere!  I even added some distress ink to the circle to "guy-it-up" even more.  The time pieces only add to the "time" element of the card.

I added a few metal buttons as embellishments that actually came from an old item of clothing.  Most old clothing that I get rid of go to charity, but sometimes the clothing is either too worn or is damaged, and that is when I try to recover what I can from the item - from buttons, tags or pockets...all can be re-purposed in other projects.

Now, for even more manly inspiration, be sure to check out what Claire has designed for you today as well as these members of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team:

I’m heading to Kansas this afternoon to be with my son as we sit vigil during my daughter-in-law’s surgery.  If you are so inclined, I’d really appreciate you saying a prayer for Brenda and that things go as planned for her surgery and her recuperation time.  Thank you, my friends.

I’ll be back with another project soon, so until then, have a happy day!
