It’s Sketch Challenge Saturday on PCP

I’m pleased to be hosting the Saturday Sketch Challenge on Paper Craft Planet this week.  While I don’t always use a sketch when I’m creating, I do find that the creative process goes much quicker, and I have greater focus, if I use a sketch as a starting point.  It’s like having a destination in mind before you get in your car.  You may not always travel the same roads to get to your destination, but the arrival point is the same.

It would make me happy if you would like to join us in the Sketch Challenge Group on PCP.  Just create a card, scrapbook page, 3D project…whatever using this sketch for inspiration.  Then, be sure to stop by the group and leave us a post and a link so that we can enjoy your inspiration.  Who knows – your project could be selected to be highlighted in the Paper Craft Planet Newsletter that goes out to all the members.  Are you ready?  Let’s go!

Using this sketch as inspiration I created this adorable little Easter card.  I started with a white card base and layered pattern paper.  Atop that I printed a wonderful design using Celtic-Lunettes digital paper from Waltzingmouse Stamps onto vellum paper.  Printing on vellum is a wonderful way to add soft accents to a page.

This adorable little bunny is from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ L’il Buddies stamp set. After adding a few grey highlights on the bunny, I masked off the image and used my Copic airbrush to paint the very light blue background.sk032710-Hoppy-EasterCU

The sentiment is also from the same L’il Buddies set.  I arranged it to sit on top of a spotted l’il Easter egg from WMS’ Nestie Eggs that I stamped with pigment ink.  I “blinged up” the button with some stickles that coordinated with some pink bling on either side of the l’il rabbit!

I hope you will join me today and play along with the challenge.  I also hope that you will stop back by tomorrow when I’ll have a project to share with you using a brand new set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.   Until then, have an awesome day!
