i {heart} papers Design Team March Challenge

Every month the i{heart}papers Challenge Coordinator, Deb Felts, throws down the most fun and creative challenges.  This month is no exception as she not only challenged us to participate in the Paper Craft Planet Sketch Challenge (sk031310), but we are also going green (reduce/reuse/recycle) with the option to use the color green.  I think I may have captured all three, although my green is a little more on the blue/green side of the spectrum.

Using this sketch, I modified my card to a standard size of 4.25 X 5.5.

On a base of kraft cardstock, I stamped a background dot image using Versa Mark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I used some adorable patterned paper from the Ooh la la For Her paper line from My Mine’s Eye and created a scalloped border/base for my “recycled” part of my card which is just a piece of cardboard box where I peeled the top layer from, revealing texture and a fun place to mount my flowers which are also from the Ooh la la package.

March-Going-Green

Using a scrap of the patterned paper, I die cut the swirly stem and adhered these punched out flowers from the kit using glue dots.

To give just a bit more texture I added a smattering of Ultra Fine flower soft to the border and center of the flowers.

Now, if you have a notion to go a little “green” today, I hope you will check out the other Design Team Members who have created projects for today’s challenge.

Wow, Lynn! What a great use of this kit. Never would have thought to put it together with the cardboard, but it works! Love all the layers of texture.

This is beautiful, Lynn! I love how you pulled together the different elements from the kit and how your recycled element adds so much texture.
