There are two types of cards that I really struggle with, design wise and those are sympathy cards and masculine cards. Today, I’m attempting the latter.
Using a fun set from Hero Arts, I stamped this cute little owl onto a piece of SEI paper that I die cut using my Labels 4 Nestabilities. Leaving the Nestabilities die on the die cut, I sponged a little Copper Metallic Ink onto the edges so that it would stand out a little from the card base, which is also part of the Moravia set from SEI – available from i{heart}papers. This was matted onto a piece of copper metallic cardstock die cut and embellished with a divider tab sticker also from this Moravia set. This particular patterned paper is awesome because of it’s metallic highlights combined with flocked cardstock. It really is stunning and I felt it was really suiting for a “man” card.
I shaded the owl a bit as well as added some highlights around him using Copic Markers. Have you seen all of the awesome Copic markers that are now available through i{heart}papers? She has every color and all the refills.
I trust that you are having a good weekend so far. I have lots of crafting to do and at the same time we are preparing for a complete basement rehab. It will be totally wonderful once it is done, but the process is going to be utter madness, especially with all the craft supplies that I have downstairs that will have to come upstairs during the construction. I really don’t know how it will all work…how I will continue to craft and even FIND things in this transition time. I’m sure it will all work out, but feel like my brain will explode when I start thinking of all the hassle it will surely be in the duration. Wish me luck!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have found just a tiny bit of inspiration.

I really like this card! I have a hard time with masculine cards, too, but yours is really inspirational!
Lynn, another fabulous card. I think you can put the masculine cards out of your struggle category. This one rocks!
