12 Designers, 12 Amazing Projects, 5 Winners!

One thing that I really miss about living in California is not having access to the ocean.  There are lots of other things that I miss about California, but  there is just something magical about enjoying the sand and surf.  When I was young I would wear my teeny bathing suit, and do all kinds of wild and crazy things that I wouldn’t be caught dead doing now…namely wearing a teeny bathing suit…lol

My projects today both highlight Spellbinders Shapeabilities –Limited Edition Surf’s Up!  These limited edition dies are only available until May 30th and then they are gone.

Spellbinders-1

My projects are like a before and after view of my beach esperiences.  Young me, the “before” portion, has a great time at the beach, loves to surf – spend hours in the sun, a big smile on my face.

Spellbinders-1CU

The sentiment is stamped on cork and the sun is stamped with gold baubles adhered to each flair.  Inside the sun is a 1/2” circle punched from cardstock and topped with a Making Memories page pebble.Spellbinders-2

And for the “after” portion of this post…I don’t have the gray hair yet, and I hope I don’t have that many rolls of back fat, but I have long since traded in my teeny bathing suit for the one piece and opted for a hat, sunscreen and a beach umbrella rather than spending long hours baking in the sun. Sand in place I’d rather not mention now just makes me grumpy.  I still enjoy the beach, but just in a different way than in my younger day.

Spellbinders-2CU I created the surf by tearing strips of vellum cardstock and rolled some of the edges down.  The sandy beach was created by tearing pieces of Sahara Sand cardstock and inking the top edges.

The Paper Craft Planet Supernovas are crazy for Spellbinders and we're having a blog hop to show off the new summer dies!  Hop along with us and leave us some love and you could end up winning one of the new limited edition sets!  We've hidden FIVE prizes among the Supernova's blogs, but no one knows which blogs the prizes are hidden!  Leave a comment on one or all of the Supernova blogs in order to win.  The more you comment, the better your chances of winning.  Blog comments will be open until Wednesday, March 31st at 6pm EST. The lucky winners will be announced on the Paper Craft Planet blog on Wednesday night.  Sorry, but only US residents are eligible to win.
