TESC99 – And We’re BACK!

It seems like forever since I posted a project for a Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge.  I’ve been away from the TESC for 3 weeks; we had a two week hiatus during CHA and I wasn’t able to participate the week prior to our break.  Anyway, we’re back and I’m raring to go.

Taylor provided us with this sketch to use as a springboard for our projects this week.

I arrived at CHA early enough on Saturday to attend a bit of the consumer show.  While I was there I stopped by the VERY busy Taylored Expressions booth and was able to pick up two stamps that are new, (so new I couldn’t find them on Taylor’s site to link to them) one of which I’m using today.

Every time I see a flamingo image, I think of those tacky plastic flamingo yard ornaments.  The community in Kansa where I loved before moving to Missouri used tacky plastic flamingo yard ornaments as a way to raise money for charity.  If you awoke one morning to find several of these in your yard, you have to pay the charitable organization to have them removed….lol.  The most fun was trying to find out what “friend” put your name on “the list”. Well, the flamingos I used for my card today are not tacky, not plastic and are in fact, adorable.

The card base is Kraft cardstock layered with panels of prism cardstock and the green panel is actually a recycled piece from packaging of some embellishments I bought a while ago.  I thought the pattern on it was interesting and the fun scalloped edge was just screaming to be reused and it just happens to look pretty good with the patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket.

I created the floral border by using a border punch and then turning the piece around and punching again on the other side.  To give the card a little extra something, I added a few Zva Creative crystals.

Would you like to play along?  All you need to do is create a project using the sketch above as your inspiration.  Then head over to Taylor's blog and link your project using Mr. Linky by Friday, February 12th (8:00 AM PST).  You could be selected to be included in the TESC Top Crops on her blog.

It's always fun to check out the various interpretation of the sketch by other members of the TE Sketch Crew because they each have their own style that they bring every week to their creations. I hope you will take a moment and stop by and see what they have posted to inspire you:

and don't forget Taylor!

Thanks so much for checking in today and making my Friday such a happy one!
