Paper Craft Planet Saturday Sketch Challenge

Hello all – I hope you are staying dry and warm this cold, winter weekend.  It may be cold outside, but it’s warm in my craft space and I’m happy to have the chance to do a little creating while doing laundry this morning.  Funny thing about working a full time job…I spend a fair portion of my weekends just getting ready for the new work week.  That doesn’t seem fair, but my mom always asked me, “who ever said life was fair?”

Laundry aside, I’m happy to be hosting today’s Paper Craft Planet Saturday Sketch Challenge.  It would really tickle me if you would pop on over and join in the fun.  You can find the sketch challenge group HERE.

I created this card, based on sketch (you’ll have to visit the forum to see the sketch) from the papers included in the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient December 2009 kit.  The image is from the Livin’ and Lovin’ Life Unity January Stampin’ Store Kit that I got from I {heart} papers.  On a card base of Baby Pink Medium and layered with patterned paper, I used an image from the Unity set and colored it with Copic Markers.

I wanted to make a birthday card because I’ve pretty much depleted my stash of birthday cards and it’s time to replenish for 2010.  Since the first of the year, I have already sent out 9 birthday cards and we aren’t even through February yet!  I did a little faux stitching on the sentiment since the Paper Craft Planet Design Team’s theme for February is stitching…any and all types.

I added some  flourish ends of Zva Creative pearls as well as adhered a few to the punched butterflies.

So that’s it…now back to my laundry.  I hope you have something a little more fun to do today than laundry.  Perhaps you can squeeze in a little crafting time, huh?  Whatever your day holds, I hope it’s a pleasant one.  Thanks for stopping by.
