Gina K Designs February Preview, Day 2 – Oh Baby

Welcome to the 2nd day of previews of the newest sets to be released by Gina K Designs this Thursday.  If you haven’t already added it on your calendar, be sure to note that the release party begins at 7:00 pm central this Thursday in Gina’s company forum on Splitcoaststampers.com.

The set that I use to create this project is Rupa Shevde’s Oh Baby.  It’s the perfect set if you are planning to create cards for expectant moms or for that first birthday card.

B-is-for-Blessing

I first stamped the blocks image onto Pure Luxury White and  after masking it off, I stamped the bear.  It was purely accidental that I positioned the bear sitting on top of the blocks and I doubt I could do it again without the use of a stamp-a-ma-jig. I was so pleased that it worked out that way.  I colored the bear with Copic markers and then cut around the image and using pop dots, I adhered it to an acrylic frame that I’ve had in my stash.

B-is-for-Blessing-CUAll this was placed onto a card base of Gina’s new color Lemon Drop and pieces of patterned paper.  I created a border using the Loop Edge border punch, topped with a piece of gingham ribbon and buttons from the Spring Collection.

I bet you’re ready for more inspiration, right?  If you haven’t already been to the blogs of the Design Team, you are in for a real treat.  Start with the Illustrator's blog Melanie Muenchinger as she presents her new set, Pressed Flowers.  The Pressed Flowers stamp set was designed to be a perfect companion to Melanie's A Year of Flowers set! It is also a perfect stand alone set as each bold stamp image lends itself to many techniques as you will see some of the designer's blogs tonight!

You won’t want to miss these designer's blogs for even more samples with this stamp set and Rupa Shevde's Oh Baby Stamp set as well!

Love you DP and the touch of the acrylic frame is sooo fun and light. that punched bottom adds an airy touch to the affect of the whole card. I would love to have received this card when I had a baby. Many moons ago!!!
