{GKD Previews} Day 2 ~Warm and Wonderful

As the short days seem to get even shorter and the temperatures seem to echo the diminished sunlight with their rapid decline, the idea of a warm sweater to snuggle into sounds really good. The images from Warm and Wonderful, a new set illustrated by Rupa Shevda are truly wonderful, full of soft goodness - so warm and inviting for any cold winter's day. 

My card has a base of acetate with a light pink background. I stamped snowflakes from the set onto the acetate using Stazon White ink. The sweater image was stamped onto 4, 1-1/4 chipboard squares that are covered in Pure Luxury Mother of Pearl - a new cardstock that Gina will carry beginning Thursday evening after the release party on Splitcoaststampers.com. It has a wonderful pearl shimmer. These four square were attached onto a Fleur de Lis pendants. I added a few Zva Creative pearls which reminded me of a sweater that I actually had years ago.

The sentiment was stamped using black Stazon onto clear crafting plastic that was die cut in a circle. Once again, I stamped snowflakes and applied ink around the edges, and then adored with a few crystals.

I just adore the sentiments in this set, especially this one that I applied to the back side of the acrylic. Many people are lucky enough to be able to come home for Christmas, but that's not always the case. It's been several years since I've been with my daughter on Christmas, so letting her know how much she is loved and missed is especially important during this season when we all long for family and that familiarity associated the memories of past Christmases. This sentiment seems to say it all.


I finished off the inside with another message placed on a sheet that also has space for a personal note. Adorned with a few Sateen flowers, this space gives a little springtime hope tucked inside.
