Wow..that was a fast weekend. I hope yours was a pleasant one. I trust everyone had a safe and happy Halloween. We opted not to participate in Halloween this year because of the condition of our poor Allie. She gets so excited every time the doorbell rings and since we are trying to keep her quiet and resting, we couldn't have the doorbell ringing every few minutes. It's unfortunate though because my husband and I really love decorating the porch and seeing all the cute kiddies in their costumes. Oh well, we'll make up for it next year!
Today's project uses a fun technique of partially embossing a card front using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and chipboard. This technique was brought to my attention by a very creative lady, Nilda Rockenbach, who has created a fantastic video showing you how to complete this technique step-by-step. I'm highlighting this technique on today's Try a New Technique for the Technique Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com I hope that you will stop by the challenge thread and play along.
Using my Snowflake Cuttlebug Embossing folder, I created an open space that allowed me to stamp my sentiment - a fun craft stamp from JanLynn called Winter Wishes. To give the front of the card a little more interest, I outlined each flake with my Glitter pen. This type of card is quick (if you leave out the glitter pen part) and is easy to mail since it's only one layer.
I also have some exciting news to share; I've been invited to join the other talented ladies on the Zva Creative Design Team. I received a phone call from Kim Hughes yesterday, and I haven't been able to wipe the smile off of my face yet! Just look at the wonderful line-up of talent that I have the opportunity to work with...Teri Anderson - Ingrid Danvers - Jana Eubank - Angelica Franssen - Lynn Ghahary - Hilde Janbroers - Lisa Johnson - Becky Olsen - Anabelle O'Malley - Lori Roop - Sherry Wright. WOW, am I lucky!
