TESC92 A Homespun Christmas

Hi everyone. I trust that you have all had a fantastic week. While I have definitely had more productive weeks, this hasn't been one of them and I haven't gotten as many things done as I would have liked, especially considering that next week is stuffed full of family activities. I'm feeling the stress of things piling up.

I did manage to get my Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge project completed. I recently received a new shipment of stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps and couldn't wait another minute before inking them up. I love this set because of the homespun feel and how great it looks on Kraft paper! =)
Using Taylor's sketch I extended my card from a standard size to a long card, 8" X 4", for this project. I did a little something unconventional for the stickle Christmas decorations on my tree. Sometimes the flow of stickles from my bottle has a mind of its own and will come out quickly and in a great amount. I didn't want to ruin my image by having a glitter glue malfunction, so I took a carrier sheet from the back of some stamps (I save these carrier sheets for instances just like this) and applied stickles onto the non-stick carrier sheet and allowed them to dry. Then using my tweezer bee tweezers, I gently removed them from the carrier sheet (only the nicely formed ones) and added a tiny dot of white glue the the back of the dried stickles "blob" and placed them onto my tree. Doing it this way took a little more effort than just applying the stickles directly onto the tree, but it did save me the frustration of having to redo the image all over again just because I don't have more control over my glitter glue! HA!

I stamped my sentiment onto a scrap piece of Kraft cardstock and punched it out, inking the edges with white pigment ink, in the same manner that I did to each of the three panels. I adhered the circular cardstock onto a ginormous button that I had in my stash.

I hope you are properly motivated and want to play along. If you do, be sure to visit the Taylored Expressions blog and submit your card to Mr. Linky. Taylor will be choosing her top ten "Top Crops" and feature them on her blog next week. That you be YOUR Crop highlighted on Taylor's blog!! If you are in need of a little inspiration, be sure and stop by the blogs of the Sketch Crew and see their interpretation of this week's sketch.
