TESC89 Black Forest

Happy Friday! I hope you are all having a great week and ready for the weekend, and what a weekend it is...Halloween is tomorrow and we even get a bonus this weekend by gaining an hour of sleep as we move back into Standard Time. For me, the only thing that Standard Time means is that I go to work in the dark, and when I leave work it's dark. UGH...No wonder winter seems to last forever. I'm always in the dark! HA!

It's time for another Taylored Expression Sketch Challenge and my last Halloween card of the season. Halloween cards are so fun to make, I almost hate to see it arrive already, but just as the seasons change, so do the card themes, and I'm onto Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I used the tree image from Taylor's Branching Out stamp set, stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with black embossing powder. Then using sponges, I added the various colors to give the image a creepy night-sky look, complete with a flying bat.

I added texture to the black background by using a spider web texture plate from Fiskars that I stitched to the Kiwi card base. A creepy spider with the sentiment invites all witches and wizards, ghosties and goblins in for a little treat.

Now it's your turn. Want to play along? Be sure to visit the Taylored Expressions blog and submit your card to Mr. Linky. She will be choosing her top ten "Top Crops" and feature them on her blog the following week. That could be you!! Need a little more inspiration? Make sure and stop by the rest of the Sketch Crews blogs to see their most creative projects.

LOL @ always being in the dark! You are right though! This is a super fab card and it's just ingenious what you did with the background. My husband thought that was the coolest effect. :)

Oooooo....this is "spooktacular"! I love how you did the background around the tree. Any chance you could do a short tutorial on how you did it and what kind of sponges you used? I love this!
