Let The Previews Begin - Gina K Day 1

Hi - Preview week is always exciting for me, and I hope for you too, as you see some of the creative ways that the Senior Design Team work with the newest stamp sets from Gina K Designs. Over the next few days I'll be showing you some of the yummy goodness that can be yours beginning Thursday, when Gina will be releasing 7 new sets.

This first project is using the new, A Year of Leaves" set from design Melanie Muenchinger. It's full of fall goodness and for my project I chose all autumn colors and lots of texture. For me autumn is all about color and texture - the beauty of the changing leaves and the signs of harvest are all spectacularly wonderful sights as we exit summer and slip into the beauty of fall.
Atop a base of Green Apple cardstock, I crimped a piece of kraft cardstock before adding a layer of origami mesh...easy to fold into a pleat and adhere behind my brown layer. This layer was created by stamping several of the leaves onto Chocolate Kiss cardstock using VersaMark ink and then dusting each one with a variety of colors of Perfect Peals. I love the shimmer and blast of color to the background piece.

My sentiment was layered onto a piece of sticky back canvas, given a light layer of acrylic paint.

My news card is from the set, Fruitful Harvest, by illustrator Asela Hopkins. The images in this set are surprising large - which are absolutely perfect for focal images, stamping on kitchen towels, place mats or ceramic tiles.
I chose another fall colored design using the pair of pears (giggle) from this set. I colored them with a layer of Copics then enhanced the image with colored pencils. With a simple design, I could really draw in the focus to the pears. The sentiment so perfect with this image.

For more inspiration with these stamps previewed today, visit Gina's blog as well as Melanie Muenchinger, the illustrator of Year of Leaves and Asela Hopkins, the illustrator of Fruitful Harvest.

Additionally, you'll find even more projects with tonight's two stamp sets by visiting the blogs of these Senior Design Team Members:
