Gina K Previews - Day 2

The Gina K Designs previews continue with a new set by Rupa Shevde called Back to School. Along with the other fall sets Gina is releasing this Thursdays, it's only fitting that there should be some 'back to school' images because this is the most wonderful time of year for every parent who has ever spent 3 long summer months with children underfoot! HA! Back to school doesn't hold the same enthusiasm for me, now that my kids are all grown with kids of their own, but I do create cards to encourage my granddaughters during the school year.

This card will really lift the spirit of any student who has achieved a goal that they have worked hard to reach. I created a desk scene with a blackboard sentiment proudly displayed for the entire class to see. To achieve a more "chalkboard" look, after stamping my sentiment, I dusted it with my powder pal, which left a dusting of chalk (or whatever is in those things). Now before you all remind me about how old I am, and that they use white boards now, rather than chalk boards, I just say - that I prefer blackboards...oh, the fond memories of the chalk dust I've inhaled over my school days. (I was a champion eraser beater...lol)

I stamped the books on the cardstock then drew a line creating my desk and colored all the images with Copic markers. I stamped and colored the pencils separately, but them out and attached them with dimensional form to add dimension.

Want to see more? Just check out Gina's blog as well as Melanie Muenchinger, the illustrator of Sports, School, Spirit.

And for even more creative inspiration, these Senior Design Team Members are participating with projects using Back to School and Sports,School Spirit sets today: Carolyn, Cindy, Donna, Emily, Erika Jessica, Lee, and Theresa as well as our CenterStage Spotlight Design Team members: Tina Gilliland and Vicki Dutcher

Don't forget about Gina's Release Party on Splitcoaststampers.com this Thursday, August 27th, starting at 7pm CST. There will be contests, challenges, lots of chatter as well as many more samples shared by the Senior Design team members and our CenterStage Spotlight team too. We'd love to have you join us!

I hope you'll stop by tomorrow when I'll have another preview of even more exciting stuff! :)
