Tropics in the Midwest

This past weekend, here in the St. Louis area, you would have thought that we were in the tropics.  It was hot and humid and while hot and humid isn't strange for summer, it is a little out of the ordinary for early spring.

On Saturday, Jessica Fick, fellow Design Team member on Paper Craft Planet, hosted the sketch challenge and I was excited to have a chance to use some "new to me" stamps from Gina K Design.  I chose to use Tropical Flowers for this card.  Using the thumping technique I stamped the three blooms onto cardstock and then using some digital paper from Jessica's Fun With Flowers Class on Stamp TV.

Jessica's sketch was such an easy canvas on which to place just about any image, so if you're looking for a great sketch, head on over to the Paper Craft Planet and play along.

I'm sorry that I'm not more "talkative" today, but I think that being out in the yard with the wind blowing pollen all over me, has taken it's tole and I'm feeling "icky", in a allergy sort of way.  It was all I could do to get through work on Monday....ugh. With the rain that we got off an on yesterday, I'm hoping that the airborne pollen will lay its ugly head down for a while.

Until next time - have a great day.

Beautiful card!!! I just love the soft almost watercolor effect from the thumping technique!

Hope you're feeling better. I am just keeping my fingers crossed for a bit of rain here to wash away the pollen. Everything is just coated in that green powder ick!
