TECC64 For the Love of Mom

Hi's another lovely day in paradise (that's code for it's FRIDAY, LET'S PARTY). Today finds me in a spectacular mood, full of energy and motivation. Motivation for what, I've not yet decided, but I'm raring to go, so that's half the battle, right?

It's time for another Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I opted not to go with a cupcake this week because I'm more in the mood for creating Mother's Day cards. It's odd that I love to make Mother's Day cards since my mom has been gone for nearly 10 years, but perhaps subconsciously I'm making cards that I wish she could see them. I wasn't stamping when my Mom was alive, but if I had been, I'm sure she would have loved this craft, and she was a very artistic and creative lady. I do have a wonderful mother-in-law who just loves everything I make (just like a real Mom would) and it always give me joy to make cards for her.

Using the sketch that Taylor created (see below) I created this card, using some chipboard and rub-ons for the M-O-M. I added some stitching to the horizontal panel. My sewing machine is very temperamental, and I never know if it will sew from one time to the next, but I guess it felt like working for this card...whew!

The only stamping that was actually done on this card was done on the button. I stamped the button using versamark and then embossed with an off white embossing powder. After that I added a little ink to darken the color just a bit before adding the ribbon.

Now it's your turn to play along. Just create a card based on this sketch and then let Taylor know by posting a comment on her blog, leaving a link to where she can see it. You may even be selected as next week's Featured Sampler. This week the Featured Sampler is Sandra MacLean of Paper Funtastics. I had never visited Sandra's blog before, but boy was it a real pleasure to view her wonderful projects. She has such a clean and creative really must take a look.
And if you need a little more creative inspiration, you won't want to miss the rest of the Cupcake Crew's fantastic projects.
and don't forget Taylor!

Thanks for looking in today.
