Gesso Resist

How can it be Monday again already?  The weekend flew by, as they all seem to do.  I spent a good deal of my time in my craft space on Saturday using my new Gina K Stamps.  My husband was working all day, so why not use that time to play, right?  Yesterday was a blur, since after church we had a family dinner at my in-laws to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday...and before I knew it, the weekend was over.

But no Monday is complete without sharing a new technique with you and with the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast.  Today's technique comes right from SCS's resources pages and Lydia Fiedler does a fantastic job of outlining the steps.  You can see her instructions HERE.

Since some of you may not know what Gesso is, I scoured the web looking for a good explanation and ran across a blog post that explains it ALL and with awesome pictures and samples, by non other than my fellow Paper Temptress Design Team member, Melissa McCarthy.  You really need to check out her post, which can be found HERE.

My card today was pretty simple, as is the tutorial, so I hope you will give it a try.  If you do create a card using this technique, be sure to use the keyword TLC217 when you upload your card to SCS...or if you create a card and post it to your blog, please post a comment with a link so I can take a look.

One last note - Today Gina K starts her sneak peeks of the 7 - yes 7 sets that will be released this Thursday on the Gina K Member's forum on Splitcoast Stampers. To see what peeks are being revealed today, click on over to any of the Design Team's blogs...all of which can be found on the side bar.

Until next time - have a fantastic day!

Hi Lynn,

Love your Gesso card, it is beautiful. Thanks so much for the great links in this post too, I spent "lots" of time on Mel's blog looking at all the gesso techniques.
