Bee Happy, ya hear?!

Hello and happy weekend.  While yesterday was stellar weather wise, today - not so much...cloudy, rainy, dreary, but I won't let that spoil my mood.  I'm determined to BEE happy!

Today I'm hosting the sketch challenge on Paper Craft Planet.  I hope you'll join me on the planet because we have such fun and the creative challenge crew really showcase their talent well! Come on over and see for yourself. 

Using the sketch (below), I created this cheerful card.  I recently got this adorable Stamps Happen Bees trio from Janlynn.com, falling in love with the adorable expression on their faces. Ah, if only real bees were this adorable.  What a fun way to send well wishes to someone!  I colored them with a combination of Prismacolor Pencils and Copic markers, with a coating of Shimmers Blingz on their wings (nearly impossible to see, but trust me, it's there)

To mimic the appearance of a hive, I dug out some magic mesh sort of stuff...I don't think it's really  magic mesh, but some other variety that I have had literally for years, and I thought it was high time I used it.  I laid the mesh on yellow cardstock and then used my punches to create the tabs and the center for the flower.  There HAD to be a flower on this card, because I don't know what makes bees more happy than a bright flower. :)
