Back in the Saddle

If you didn't get a chance to attend the new Gina K Design release party on Thursday night on Splitcoast Stampers Member's Forum, you missed on rootin' tootin' good time.  Gina release 7 new stamp sets, one of which was Out West. This is a fabulous western set by Gina's newest illustrator, Thersa Momber. Theresa has been a design team member of Gina's for a while but this is her first set as an illustrator.

I never really thought of myself as much of a western fan, but I feel in love with these cowboy images and awesome sentiments that come in this set right away, and that I knew I would have
fun with it.  And can honestly say that I really enjoy creating this card.

Using Black Leather cardstock from Paper Temptress, (click on the image to take a closer look) I created the mat for the background of this card.  The buckboard with the red background was created using my photo corner punch - punched in the four corners.    To cowboy this card up even further, I created a lasso from hemp twine and fashioned a branding iron from wire and a wooden bead.  Notice the "M" for "Mercurio"?  HA!

The sentiment is a quote by Winston Churchill, "No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle".  What a great sentiment to use with this saddle image.  I used some clock pieces to create the embellishment on the tag.

Well that's it for today...have to take Allie (our four-legged baby) to the vet to have her thyroid levels checked - we both take our thyroid bill together every day...lol, and then she's off to the groomer to a bath and a trim. (she isn't really fond of either place - vet or the groomer), but we all have things to do we don't enjoy much...speaking of that, I have laundry to do, so I'm outta here. :)  Thanks for poppin' in today.  Y'all come back now, ya hear?  Until next time...
