TLC190 Stairstep Cards

These are my samples for this week's Technique Lover's Challenge. It's called either a Stair Step fold, or an Accordion fold, depending on the orientation of your project. This would be a Stair Step fold since it's landscape, but this fold can work either way - portrait or landscape.
  • Cut your cardstock to the size of 10.5 X 5.0 - if you want to stamp on this, now would be the time to do it.
  • Score your cardstock at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25" Now fold with hills and valleys.
  • Now just decorate and embellish any way you like.

I used a variety of punches, nestabilities, ribbons, metal clips, rhinestones and acrylic snowflakes, along with a little glitter to make this card. So simple.

Fun huh? I think so. I really enjoy making cards that have unique folds - just a little 'step above' the norm. If you would like to see other samples of this variety of card, just go on over to the gallery at Splitcoast Stampers or Click HERE.

Have a wonderful day, and if you are lucky enough to have the day off from work in observance of Columbus Day - well, I'll say it, "I'm jealous"! :) Until next time - blogs and kisses.

I love this idea! Can you actually fit it into an envelope and if so, what size? I would love to send a few for christmas if I can get them mailed.

These are such fun - I wanna make one!! I am just dying about the red and black one!!

To answer Kristie's question...yes these will fit in a standard size envelope, as long as the items that you attach don't extend past the measurements of the envelope. The heart card did extend past, but since I was giving it to my husband, I really didn't need an envelope. :) But I was careful with the snowflake card, using a ruler to make sure I didn't go past the measurements.

What a fabulous idea for a card!! I truly LOVED making my card for this challenge, although it seemed to take all day to do, but I'm so pleased with the outcome. OH YA, this is about YOURS, LOL. LOVE BOTH of these. THe snowflakes are so cute on there, and the hearts are the PERFECT thing for your hunneybunch. :)
