Hello to BOO...I'm so happy that it's Friday...but when have I NOT been happy to see another Friday roll around? Well, this Friday is no exception. Can you believe that Halloween is next Friday? Where has this month gone? I have so much yet to do to prepare for the little ghosts and goblins that will be visiting. I am happy to report that I I can now mark THIS project off of my to-do list.I'm really fortunate that today's Blogger's Challenge was to create a gift for someone. I'm not sure if you would consider these a gift or a treat, but either way, I made 16 of these little peek-a-boo boxes for some of my co-workers for Halloween.
Now these boo-boxes are not new by any means...they have been around for a while, but I had great fun with these because in addition to stamping the box with black ink, I also used some glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint for the center of each of the circles on the box. So when the lights go out, these little boxes have an eerie glow about them. I only wish that I could capture on camera the creepy green they are in the dark. FUN! The design I chose was really simple in nature because when you are making a bunch of anything, you don't want to take a week with each one. So there's my gift giving project for this challenge.
I just love all the creepy fun decorating that people do this time of year. If you are a fan of Halloween decorating and entertaining, AND of the show on DIY Network, Creative Juice, you won't want to miss the series they are doing called Witch Crafts. They are showing you how to create creepy decorations with simple tools and supplies, as well as coming up with really clever costume ideas.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the other ladies in the Blogger's Challenge group come up with for their gifts. If you would like to check out their ideas, links to their blogs can be found by clicking the Blogger's Challenge logo along the left-hand sidebar of my blog.
Thanks so much for looking in today and I hope that your Halloween planning and preparations are going well. Until next time...be safe, be kind, and be happy!
