{Music Makes My Heart Sing}

I wanted to make a card for our church music director. She works tirelessly to bring us wonderful music each week and I'm sure she is very much unappreciated. Music always touches a special place in my soul...and has since I was a child, and that hasn't changed any during the years. It can bring back memories long forgotten, it can lighten my mood, or take me to a dark place where I might have been when I first heard it, but the point is that no other medium holds such powers as music.

The sentiment that flows over the heart on this card reads, "The magic of music warms the heart and soothes the soul", which is exactly the way I feel. This stamp, made by Stamps Happen, was purchased at least 6 months ago, but just now found ink. I knew I would probably use it around Valentine's Day, but it really fits anytime of the year.

The Heart and surrounding area was colored with SU Pastel Chalks and then with my Spritzer Tool, I created the speckled background using a variety of colors. You may notice that I cut two flowers from the patterned paper and used those under the ribbon brads for accent.

I had an absolutely fabulous time yesterday at the St. Louis area SCS Shoebox Swap. Lots of food, great conversation (including our takes on the newest techniques and tools), and FABULOUS projects which I will show you in my next post.
