{Life Is Beautiful}

I was inspired to create this card by one that I saw on page 95 of Paper Crafts magazine. Donna DiGennaro, the creator of the card that inspired me, used the small oval punch to create flower petals and I thought that would be easy enough to do.

The Pixie Pink matting was stamped using my Lined Paper Backgrounder stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms using White Craft ink. Then using my Fiskars Border Punch on two side, created the eyelet look, which I highlighted with my Signo white gel pen.

I used my now retired, Wild Hearts background stamp to create the design of the flowers using Pixie Pink ink on Whisper White card stock, then punched 6 petals. Then using my 1" circle punch I rounded the petal edges to mimic the center circle. The center circle is also a 1" punch with dots added by hand with my gel pen.

The chipboard has a long history. I originally covered it with a completely different paper for a completely different project. I didn't end up using it for that project, so I tried to remove the paper as best I could (which on hindsight, I should have just left it on and covered it with more paper). I covered it with another patterned paper, but after I did, I didn't like the colors as much as I thought that I would, so I inked over the paper, and added some gold dots with a gold leafing pen. Man! I was determined to use this piece of chipboard!!! To make things even worse with this chipboard, I accidentally bent part of it, creating an unsightly line, so I covered it with a button and some ribbon. I'll tell ya, nothing was going to keep me from using this! LOL

I finished the card off with a sentiment that I found on my Eastern Elegance Rub-Ons from SU!

All in all, I liked the way it turned out, but man, was it ever being difficult! I'm pretty tenacious when I want to complete something and no little piece of chipboard was going to stop me!HA!

I'm so happy you stopped by today. I know how precious your limited time is to blog-surf and I'm honored that you came to mine!
