It seems that I go through sympathy cards in spurts, and perhaps you have heard the saying that deaths come in threes. This has definitely been my experience lately. So, while I try to make up a few sympathy cards to have on hand, I found myself a few short this past weekend.
I had been admiring all of the great card samples from the Roses in Winter stamp set on Splitcoast Stampers Forum for quite a while and I finally broke down and bought it. I must say that I have never really been happy with most of my "two-step stamping" cards and maybe it is because I expect everything to line up, which it never does. But, with this stamp set, I felt it was OK not to line up.
I wanted this card to be subtle in it's design as this is for a gentleman who recently lost his partner to Alzheimer's disease. This gentleman was so sweet, going to visit his love day after day when he knew she wouldn't even know who he was. That is true love! I know that he will be missing his sweetheart and while no card or sentiment can ease his sorrow, perhaps just knowing that others feel for his loss will warm his heart.
